# Linking definitions

### Adding definitions&#x20;

1. Navigate to the detailed page of the report you want to link a definition to.
2. Click the link button to connect definitions.
3. Choose the element on the page you want to connect the definition to.
4. Select one of the following options: *Add an existing definition*, *Create manually or Generate a definition*.

### Editing a definition

In the "Used definitions" section, you will see all definitions that are linked to a report.&#x20;

1. You can click on the name of the definition to view and edit title and regenerate documentation.&#x20;
2. You can unlink the definition by clicking on the "X" icon.

### Finding the linked definitions

If you spot our compass logo next to a chart or term, simply click on it to open a box with detailed definitions. Alternatively, you can click on the target icon in the "Used definitions" section to see where on the page they are linked.
